I hope you are not offended when I post things like that. I do see more spiritual health and power in serious Catholics than I see in most other entities.

It may also seem incredible that there is a wing of the Catholic Church that really believes birth control is sinful and acts accordingly, resulting in families of 8, 10, 13 children or more, many of whom I know personally.

Of course these are the more conservative, tradition-minded Catholics, which at present may be a small proportion of the total number worldwide. However, it’s a proportion that can only get bigger. : )

And there are those repeated passages in the Book of Mormon about how the inhabitants of this land need to serve God, or e land will be cursed, and the people swept off.

Frankly, most people put off kids because kids are hard work and cost money, and instead fun is FUN! It is desire for careers and degrees and material things and the honors of men, and time for yourself, etc, that keeps people from delaying marriage, or kids, or avoiding them altogether. Both marriage and kids require maturity and sacrifice.

Two last things, at the current rate of change, the marriage rate will reach 0 in the year 2045, give or take.

Second, Joseph Smith prophesied that the time would come, when none but the women of the Latter-day saints would have children. In his day, that would seem incredible, yet we see that is the way the world is going.
