Not all lawsuits are baseless

I foresee a justified one coming out of this.
It’s just that they tend to be quietly settled when they’re this clear-cut.* As this one likely will be.
*And, yes, it’s probably dangerous to assume the journalist who wrote this story got the fact pattern right. I live for danger.

It’s not exactly that I’m in favor of amateur dentistry performed by people who lacked the mental horsepower to get a degree in business or engineering. However, a contrarian might say that this sort of thing is one of many reasons it isn’t a good idea to use the public education system to warehouse persons who would two generations ago have lived out their entire lives in mental institutions. At least in 1935 the orderlies would probably have pulled the correct tooth.

me: when you refer to persons being warehoused in the public education system, are you talking about the autistic boy, or the teacher and school nurse in this situation?
There is a scale of degree among persons with autism. Mild to moderate autistics may indeed be “mainstreamed” if the teachers and staff at the school are trained to handle them.
