Nature Red in Tooth and Claw
June 13th, 2012 by Vader
[N]ature ripped out the bunnies from their soft home and drank their blood, and you want me to help it? With money?
Lileks himself isn’t a milquetoast, but he had a couple interrupt his morning’s work.
His Majesty: “There is unappreciated value in such things as bull fights and bear baiting. Civilized man needs to see a good mauling now and then, to keep him aware of what the alternative is.”

His Majesty is not a member of PETA.
If you will permit a small critique: Your pronouncement is notably lacking in any element of surprise.
However, one can also appreciate the dessicated wit.

Well, I’m dashed. Positively! If HM doesn’t treat animals ethically either, what exactly does he do the square thing by? Midichlorians, I suppose? But I understand the wee things are invisible to the naked eye, or even to the eye decently clothed in a monocle. Rather easy to go swanking about tooting one’s horn about one’s ethical treatment of the mites, while all the while if one but knew it one ( a different one, the same one as the first one, but not the same one as the second one that but knew it, if you follow me) was evicting the aged midichlorian patriarch from his ancestral home, twirling one’s mustache all the while.
Jeeves, eat a fish. Eat two fish. You need it. I don’t mean to be rude but you’ve just made the most awful bloomer. This Vader chappie’s humor is carapaced, not dessicated. Its the fellow who ties little midichlorian maids to railroad tracks whose wit would be dessicated, if he had any.

I love the vocabulary lessons on this blog.

As you score points, it gives you harder words. A side benefit is that they supposedly donate rice to feed the needy.

I quit playing when they told me ‘nebula’ meant ‘galaxy.’
