Eliza R. Snow Rebukes Feminism

November 23rd, 2011 by G.

Rebukes might be too strong and too little a word. Say rather that Eliza R. Snow transcends feminism in this quote:

Tell the sisters to go forth and discharge their duties, in humility and faithfulness and the Spirit of God will rest upon them and they will be blest in their labors. Let them seek for wisdom instead of power and they will have all the power they have wisdom to exercise.

Thus Sister Snow. Her teaching is in line with the dominical paradoxes that Christ taught about losing your life to find it. The treasure we most covet is the most slippery.

I found this teaching in a talk by Sister Thompson on revelation. Her talk is remarkably lucid and also well worth your time.

It might go without saying, but the same holds true for men as well.

I obviously need to post on the Sith Exception to the Eliza R. Snow Rule.
