What’s Different About America

Oh, I say, the hot and cold water fixtures are rather puzzling. That’s why I have my man, Jeeves, draw the young master’s bath.

That discussion appealed to my American self regard, but paradoxically it also made me feel a bit like a stranger in my own country.

I read the whole thread, and they left out my favorite peculiarity: Look at us sideways and we’ll put a Hellfire missile in your ear.

GST, I think that national trait is implied in all the comments about how Americans are polite, friendly, and eager to reassure that we’re just kidding.

Because when we’re not kidding, people die.
