Few stories are as sublime. Thank you for linking it.

I pretty much knew I would marry my wife on our second date as well, although it is difficult to risk looking incredibly foolish (perhaps insane) by saying something. It was not until probbaly our fourth date (maybe third) that we talked marriage. At first the talk was theoretical, as in marrying somebody, but within 45 minutes or so we agreed that we would marry each other. It took me two months to save up for a suitable ring and make things official. That was 28 years ago. The funny thing is, this all seems normal to me, no matter how many times I have been told it is not.

Most of the time, I would have to agree. But I think it is too dogmatic to say there is no such thing as love at first sight, or God holding some people in reserve for others. I can't rule out a Saturday's Warrior scenario for every person.

Very nice.

I can't say for sure that I knew it on our first or second date. But I did know I wanted to marry her long before it would have been considered reasonable by my family and friends at the time. So I deliberately, and impatiently, waited until the six-month anniversary of our first date before proposing. Then we were forced to wait six more months by Church "marriage preparation" guidelines.

My grandfather, though, always insisted that he knew he would marry my grandma the first moment he laid eyes on her.

What a wonderful, sweet story.

Bittersweet for me. Padme once felt that way. One wonders what went wrong. Could it be that we got married way too soon in our courtship?
