It is an interesting age in which to be a man. Society seems determined demand that women be men and men be women and trying to understand how to fight the current is an ordeal in and of itself, but very worth our time.

Granting that gender, per se, is an eternal characteristic, yes, it is difficult to be a real man or a real woman. So difficult, that in the eternities, only the perfect, the exalted ones, will be real men, and real women.
According to scripture (Section 132), lesser beings (the two lower divisions in the Celestial Kingdom, and presumably all inhabitants of the Terrestrial and Telestial Kingdoms) will live “separately and singly”. Or, to paraphrase Joseph Fielding Smith with a bloggernacle phrase, lesser beings will be “TK Smoothies.”
