		<description>I see the argument for anonymity like that of the right to bear arms, but if anything stronger. It is debatable if an armed conflict with the govt could be won, but as long as we exercise these rights, that is that much less power the govt has. All loss of anonymity means is that we have given the govt power that is had no right to demand. How many Chinese citizens would desire what we have?</description>

		<description>I agree with the sentiment that anonymity is mostly pernicious for civility on the Web. I think I&#039;d probably be a bit more circumspect if I had to write everything under my own name.

Is more than a weak excuse in my case. I&#039;m not &lt;i&gt;guessing&lt;/i&gt; my employer would care; I&#039;ve actually had a visit from my employer&#039;s security office asking me to knock off posting anything on the Internet under my own name. 

His Majesty is ever so stubborn about such things.</description>
