Woman, God’s Ultimate Creation

April 20th, 2011 by Adam Greenwood

] Paul and the prophets like to compare Adam and Christ. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Christ is the New Adam. (more…)

Brooding Upon the Waters

April 18th, 2011 by Adam Greenwood

Lately I’ve been thinking about the Hebrew notion that water represented formlessness, chaos, and by extension sin, the devil, and mortality. The notion has some currency in modern scripture. (more…)

Why young LDS men aren’t getting married

April 15th, 2011 by Vader

An important factor is pessimism about the economy.

I myself like Dr. Yankovic’s explanation.

Though I should add in passing that I’ve known a number of female astrophysicists, and while most were very nice people and many were friends, none comes to mind when I ask myself whom I’m anxious to see in a bikini.

But then there are very few women who look good in a bikini. Natalie Portmann, maybe, but her field is psychology and physiology, not astrophysics.

Donald Trump as sacrificial pawn?

April 15th, 2011 by Vader

Doesn’t seem consistent with his personality to let himself be used.

He is an entertainer. Republicans can wait till fall to send in the A team. By then, President Obama will have dropped himself down to Donald Trump’s level. Already it has begun.

On the other hand, being rich and successful doesn’t preclude being clueless. It may, in face, blind oneself to one’s cluelessness.

So, what was up with the capes?

April 14th, 2011 by John Mansfield

Driving home, the interview linked below came to mind, connected somewhat with my last entry. (“Spirit of Elijah Strikes Again!”) Something about the mellowness of age looking back fondly on the extravagances of youth. Is it with satisfaction or regret that Alan White tells us, “I never wore a cape”?

What Did Jesus Know and When Did He Know It?

April 13th, 2011 by Adam Greenwood

Do evangelicals really think Jesus was omniscient as a 30 year old? As a 15 year old? As an infant? As an embryo? Foolishness. (more…)
