It’s hard not to see a lot of good in the Amish approach to community and technology.
It’s a reminder that Mormonism’s embrace of modernity is not a given–we do it because we want to convert the world, and cannot do it “off the grid.”

“We don’t want to stop progress, we just want to slow it down.” … I admire the Amish sense of never doing things just because everybody else seems to be doing them.
