Pioneer Day.

July 24th, 2010 by G.

Happy Pioneer Day. Our flags are out, our neighbors are bewildered, and our feet our itching for the square dance tonight at the stake center.

Pioneering is the subject of the top story at the LDS Newsroom.

BYUTV.org will broadcast a pioneer concert today at 5 PM. The concert will commemorate 100 years of the Mormon Tabernacle choir, but its advertised as a pioneer concert so hopefully there’s something about the real pioneers in it.

Still sheltering in the shade of the trees they planted — a round-up of Pioneer Day posts.

My stake is challenging its members to accumulate 1300 miles of walking, running, swimming, or other means of locomotion. Anything done under your own power.

Well, except that in my case, there’s a question whether any locomotion I do can truly be said to be under my own power. I’m mostly battery-powered nowadays.
