LDS holistic conference

June 30th, 2010 by Vader

One of the cringeworthiest things I’ve seen in a while.

To those who are skeptical about such things, Jones referenced Alma’s discourse on faith in the Book of Mormon.

“Experiment on the word,” said the mother of five. “Try and see what happens. It isn’t crazy or scary. It’s so in harmony with our beliefs that once you experiment a whole new world will spiritually open up.”

That raises all kinds of red flags for me. But I’ll settle for this response:

And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.

It’s the truthiness of “holistic” remedies that’s the issue for me.
