I heard the story of an old woman who kept a condom in a bowl of water on top of her organ. When her inquisitive priest asked about the odd object, she related to him how she found it one evening while walking through the park. She followed the directions to the “T” (place on top of organ and keep wet). She then related to her priest, “And wouldn’t you know, I haven’t had the flu all year.”

We should all be so fortunate.

I agree the danger has been overestimated. It is other elements of the article that are nonsense.

I'm a mere physicist, and even I've heard of antigenic shift, so the fact that this strain has elements from several different strains does not necessitate the idea that this is man-made. That said, the first section is spot on. I do not need, nor will I be getting, this vaccine, because the danger is so minimal. This is especially true because I had the flu in the spring (most likely the so-called swine flu, since that's what kept 600 students home from the local high school around that time).
