The 1st Counselor in the Bishopric (his second round in the bishopric) still struggles after 7 years of experience, to get a Sacrament program organized properly, or to give the right announcements, or..... As high priest group leader, I find myself teaching Gospel Doctrine frequently, because our instructor also has a stake calling, which we were promised would not affect Sundays. In talking about Spiritual Gifts, I go out and get Pres Cannon's full talk on spiritual gifts and quote extensively from it (including his call to repentance), and also from Elder McConkie's Apr1980 Ensign talk on what we need to do to prepare for this "Final Glorious Gospel Dispensation." It always makes people think to quote him asking: if we do not have faith to heal the sick, how do we expect to move mountains? For Priesthood, I have to make sure we have sufficient people to clean the temple on Tuesday, AND to work in the bishop's storehouse. Not the first time I've had to remind the stake that they have double billed us on the same day. I'm wondering if things work this smoothly in Enoch's Zion....
